Khairpur police arrested two bandits and rescued four hostages after an encounter in the katcha area of Faiz Mohammad Bhindo.

The crackdown against outlaws has been going on for the past two days. On Tuesday, police was informed that bandits were shifting the hostages to some other place due to the extensive operation.

A large contingent of police cordoned off the area but was fired at by the bandits. After the exchange of fire that continued for about 30 minutes, police arrested two kidnappers but some other accomplices fled leaving behind the hostages. Aamir Pathan, Mohammad Aslam Kalhoro, Iqbal Abro and Asghar Rind were kidnapped by armed men three weeks ago near the Khairpur-Larkana bridge. The arrested men were identified as Kashmir Phulpoto and Mehdi Dino Larik.
