Birth anniversary: Nation pays tribute to Jinnah

Paying tribute to the founder of Pakistan, the nation celebrates 136th birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah on Tuesday.
The day began with the Change of Guard ceremony at the Quaid’s mausoleum in Karachi. The ceremony and parade were led by Commandant Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) Major General Sadiq Ali.
A contingent of cadets from the PMA mounted the guard at the mausoleum.
Sindh governor Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan, Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari paid a visit to the mausoleum. Bilawal also wrote his comments in the visitors’ book.
The government declared the day a national holiday.
