LAHORE:

The Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) will host a Christmas ceremony featuring a 600-pound cake at Attique Stadium near Badshahi Mosque starting at 12.30pm on December 24.

The event will feature performances by a student choir from Forman Christian College, school students from Youhanabad and Taimur Rehman from the pop band Laal. Students will also put on religious tableaus.

Bishop of Lahore Father Irfan Jamil will conduct the Christmas prayers, while Father Shahid Miraj and Reverend Pastor Arshad Gill will also be in attendance.

The company’s sanitary workers will also be given ration bags and education vouchers, sponsored by the Punjab Education Foundation. LWMC Chairman Khawaja Ahmed Hassaan is to be the chief guest at the event, though there is a possibility that Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif could also turn up.
