Prank or threat?: Grenade lobbed at builder’s house

KARACHI: At least two motorcyclists hurled a hand grenade at a builder’s house in Defence Phase V on Friday evening. No one was injured as the grenade did not explode, police said.

The grenade was thrown with its pin intact, suggesting that they might have lobbed it just to threaten the man, DSP Waseem Khawaja said. He added that the complainant had told the police that extortionists had threatened his family almost a year back but the matter was resolved at the time. Since then, the builder said he had not received any threats.
