Encroachment drive: Residents protest demolition of houses

Protestor says they welcome decision of the PHC but the finance department had given incorrect statistics in court.

KARAK: Residents of Takht Nasrati and Letambar staged a protest on Monday against the decision taken to remove encroachments and demolish constructions built on a graveyard. Protestor Malik Muhammad Nawaz said that they welcomed the decision of the PHC but the finance department had given incorrect statistics in court. They said that their houses were at a distance from the graveyard and were only suffering because the department of finance was negligent to details. Residents have demanded a judicial inquiry into the matter and said they will take legal action if their demands were not met. They also alleged of corruption in the department of finance and said that demolishing of their houses was taking place to protect illegal allotments that the department had acquired.
