The deputy convener of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM)’s Coordination Committee, Dr Farooq Sattar, has said that the delimitation of constituencies and house-to-house verification of voters in Karachi alone is a conspiracy against his party’s mandate. However, he added that the MQM will thwart this conspiracy.
Addressing a ‘Martyrs Day’ function at Jinnah Ground in Azizabad on Sunday, Dr Sattar said that 1992 was the biggest trial for the MQM. “Over 15,000 workers were martyred … not a single murderer has ever been arrested, let alone punished,” he said. He demanded that the killers of MQM workers be brought to book.
The MQM leader said his party was ready to make sacrifices for peace in the country but it would never bow down before any oppressors.
The MQM is not a power-hungry party – all it wants is Pakistan’s prosperity and wellbeing of its people, said Dr Sattar. He added that the MQM has always successfully faced trials and tribulations under the leadership of party chief Altaf Hussain.
Dr Sattar said that the MQM would continue its struggle undeterred.
Earlier addressing the gathering, Coordination Committee member Raza Haroon paid rich tribute to the party chief, saying that Altaf Hussain’s brother and nephew also sacrificed their lives in the struggle for justice.
Attendees at the function also included MQM leaders Anis Qaimkhani, Nasreen Jalil and Dr Nusrat.

Dear Adeel I used to live in a flat at north Karachi in which the whole plaza constitute 60 flats and registered votes almost 250 the official postal address in C-354 . Sector L-11 north Karachi because these 60 flats constructed on a old 240 yard house. For this type of error you have to blame builder’s mafia rather than any political parties.
After this delimitation thing do you accept the result if once again MQM gain majority seats in Karachi
Why is MQM so afraid? I guess its true that guns don't give courage, just a tool to kill people.
600 people registered in one house and mqm says its unfair to have voter re-listing...what a bunch of jokers!!
@Confused Paki: "Voter confirmation is a conspiracy against the MQM?..." . If you stick to the obvious, you will always remain confused. As @Mon Amour: points out, there is more than meets the eye. Taking everything at the face value hinders your vision.
Chief Justice is simply favoring one particular party of Punjab for very obvious reason . Judiciary Martial Law at its best .!!!!
Voter confirmation is a conspiracy against the MQM? Do they even think about what they're saying anymore or are they so used to trampling over us that they don't even consider the possibility that we may see the obvious problem in this logic? I for one am really hoping to see more political parties, more accountability and more competition for our voters in Karachi.....if MQM truly is a democratic and "secular" party...they shouldn't have a problem with that. The fact that they do speaks volumes about their thinking
