Lala Gulam Sarwar father of Yusuf Khan (Dilip Kumar) shifted to Bombay in the year 1932 long before the formation of pakistan and like many others Dilip sahib has decided to continue in India even after the partition, this decission I beleive eas out of compulsion. Allah Knows best.

@sandy: Very stunning and regrettable that the person in question had not opted for India ,since his father had shifted his business from Peshawar to Bombay . Yousaf khan /delip kumar had to accompany his family over there. It was by chance that he was introduced to film industry by a Hindu lady DEVICA, who owned & ran her studio , by the moral support of a Pathan world renowned director and producer MEHBOB KHAN , delip kumar emerged as a top level actor in Indian industry .
