Laid to rest: Actor Rasheed Sabir dies

Actor and dramatist, Rasheed Sabir, passed away on Friday evening in a private hospital after a prolonged illness.

KARACHI: Actor and dramatist, Rasheed Sabir, passed away on Friday evening in a private hospital after a prolonged illness. He was 70 and left behind three sons and five daughters. Sabir was laid to rest at Moriro Mirbaher graveyard. Sabir wrote dramas for PTV, Radio Pakistan and Sindhi TV channels. He himself performed as an actor for hundreds of TV, radio and stage dramas, and in films. Sabir was also a journalist for Sindhi newspapers. His last drama, ‘Sangram,’ focused on partition and was aired on a Sindhi TV channel. As a lecturer at Noor Muhammad High School, he was known for his command over the Arabic language. He also wrote an Arabic guide for MA students.
