Graduation day: BNU convocation today

Twenty one out of a total of 315 graduating students are to receive gold medals.

LAHORE:
The seventh convocation of the Beaconhouse National University, in which as many as 315 students will graduate, will be held today at the New BNU Campus located near Raiwind Road. The chief guest at the convocation will be Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh, the federal minister for finance. The convocation is scheduled to start at 2:30 pm. Twenty one out of a total of 315 graduating students are to receive gold medals for achieving a distinction in their respective disciplines. This year, BNU is introducing the Arfa Karim Gold Medal to pay tribute to the World’s youngest Microsoft Certified Professional Arfa Karim Randhawa, who passed away earlier this year. The Arfa Karim Gold Medal will be awarded to Roshaan Malik, a BSc Honours student of the Software Engineering programme, at the School of Computer and IT. The medal will be presented by the parents of late Arfa Karim, Col (retd) and Mrs Amjad Abdul Karim Randhawa.
