Cattle theft: Prayer leader stabbed

FAISALABAD: Some people beat up a prayer leader on Wednesday in Dilloala village. Station House Officer Babar Nawaz said that Hafiz Muhammad Nawab, a prayer leader, lodged an FIR against three people on charges of stealing two bulls. He said the suspects asked Nawab to withdraw the case but he refused. He said on Wednesday, when Nawab was returning home after leading a prayer, the suspects stabbed him. He said they then abandoned him on the road and fled. Some passers-by took him to Bhowana tehsil headquarter (THQ) hospital, where doctors treating him said that his condition was serious. The station house officer said that a case had been lodged against Mumtaz, Haider, Riaz, Ghulam Shabbir, Kanga, Ayesha Bibi, Saleem Bibi, Naseem Bibi and two unknown persons for stabbing him. He said they had raided their house twice but no was was found there.
