MUMBAI:

The buzz around actor Aamir Khan’s Talaash, releasing Friday, is so strong that certain theatres opened their ticket counters on November 25 for pre-bookings. And according to industry insiders, the response has been overhwhelming.

Talaash is a crime thriller and is Aamir’s first release after mega blockbuster 3 Idiots. The movie, which is slated to release on Friday is directed by Reema Kagti and features Kareena Kapoor and Rani Mukerji opposite Aamir.

Usually, for a Friday release advance bookings open on Monday, while multiplexes open booking counters on Wednesday. However, the booking schedule has been re-arranged for Talaash. “Owing to strong buzz and humungous inquiries from patrons, we opened the advance booking for the film on Sunday pan India at all our Cinemax multiplexes,” said Girish Wankhede, national marketing head, Cinemax India Ltd., in a statement.

“The response was quite amazing as we were able to book around 700 tickets on the very first day. Lot of corporate bookings and bulk bookings are also happening. We are very upbeat and foresee another big blockbuster,” he added.

Shashank Raizada, managing director of capital-based Delite Cinema, said, “We had to open the advance booking of Talaash one day earlier on Sunday, as people were coming and asking for tickets. We started getting many block bookings almost 15 days ago. Our conventional booking has also been very good.”

Aamir, known for his innovative and extensive marketing strategies, is doing whatever he can for the promotion of his upcoming film. He used the small screen to promote Talaash and made appearances on shows like “C.I.D.” and shot a special show for Star Plus as well.

Amir Khan's this movie will be a bit hit also. There's a reason he does only one move a in a year , two year period. He's probably doing the best movies for south asians. Stuff that isn't littered with the regular-bollywood dance/romance crap.
