Ashura Security: 11 terrorism suspects arrested

Police said one of the suspects, a volunteer deployed at the main procession, was arrested for suspicious behaviour.

As many as 11 terrorism suspects were arrested in Multan on Sunday. Additional SP Rana Mansoor told The Express Tribune that 10 of them were arrested from near the check points shortly before the main procession of 100,000 mourners arrived.

Police said one of the suspects, a national volunteer deployed at the route of the main procession, was arrested for suspicious behaviour. Police said they recovered a gun and bullets from him when he was searched. He was identified as Umair Ahmed.
