Kidnapping case: Actress and sister granted bail

LAHORE: Additional District and Sessions Judge Abdul Qayyum on Tuesday confirmed the pre-arrest bails of actress Khushbakht alias Sofia Mirza and her sister Maryum Mirza for Rs100,000 each in a kidnapping case. The sisters told the court that they had nothing to do with Fatima’s abduction. According to the FIR registered on the complaint of Rukhsana Zahid, the mother of the alleged victim, Fatima went to college on October 12 but never returned. She said that she later learned, via a mobile phone network operator, that Fatima was in touch with Sofia and Maryum Mirza. She said she called the sisters, but they refused to tell her anything. She alleged that Sofia Mirza had threatened her.
