Departmental battle: PTU president’s services restored
Following the restoration, the Punjab Teachers Union withdrew a call for a protest demonstration on Wednesday.

The Punjab schools secretary has restored the services of Punjab Teachers Union President Hafiz Ghulam Mohyuddin. A notification in this regard has been issued on Monday. The services of Mohyuddin had been terminated on the charges of misconduct two and a half years ago. Mohyuddin challenged the termination in the Lahore High Court which ordered an enquiry. The Education Department then appointed a director public instruction to hold the inquiry, who declared Mohyuddin innocent and recommended his restoration. Following the restoration, the Punjab Teachers Union withdrew a call for a protest demonstration on Wednesday.
