Football: Muslim FC reclaim third spot

“Chaman is a safe place and all other teams are playing here,” says Muslim FC's captain.

KARACHI:

Muslim FC regained third position in the Pakistan Premier Football League (PPFL) after their opponents Navy failed to turn up for the match in Chaman due to security concerns. Muslim FC captain Saeed Ahmed said that while the walkover has led the team into the top three, it has far-reaching repercussions as the Muslim FC’s only means of revenue is the sale of tickets.

“Chaman is a safe place and all other teams are playing here,” Ahmed told the Express Tribune. “It affects our revenue badly if we turn back the spectators. What’s more unfair is the fact that despite lack of funds we play matches away from home, so we expect other teams to follow suit.”
