Youm-e-Hazrat Omar Farooq: ASWJ holds rally

The majority Sunni party demanded that the government announce a public holiday on the day.

KARACHI: The Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat, formerly known as the Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan, banned outfit, held a rally in Karachi on Friday.

The rally started from ASWJ headquarters located at Nagan Chowrangi and marched all the way to Tibet Centre on MA Jinnah Road. The event was organised to commemorate Youm-e-Hazrat Omar Farooq (RA).

The participants of the rally reached their destination without meeting any untoward incident.

ASWJ central leader Maulana Aurangzaib Farooqui addressed the participants at Tibet Centre, where he highlighted the sacrifices of Hazrat Omar Farooq (RA) and demanded that the government announce a public holiday on this day.

@shahid: So why dont your brothers for whom you are taking side doesnt dont take rally on 12 rabiulawal. Any specific reason ???

Ok so rehman malik has missed one great chance to grab so many terrorists. Alas. Using the name of caliphs to show their stregnth and mock the government and security forces.

@kanwal replace these people with the ones, who'll be holding matam on 10th muharam. they'll too use the name of Hussein to show their strength and mock the government and security forces.
