Contract-snubbed Sarwan not surprised
Sarawan says disappointment not to affect focus in leading Guyanas Champions League Twenty20 campaign in South Africa.
Ramnaresh Sarwan was not surprised at being dropped from the West Indies Cricket Board’s (WICB) list of contracted players and said that the disappointment would not affect his focus in leading Guyana’s Champions League Twenty20 campaign in South Africa. Sarwan was one of three key players omitted from the contracts list released by WICB earlier, citing fitness concerns.
“I knew for about three weeks and even before that, I was reading between the lines,” said Sarwan. “I’m disappointed it seems I’m singled out for special attention by the board most of the times. I continue to be fully committed to representing the West Indies and at this point I’m fitter than I was a year ago.”
Sarwan will captain Guyana in the Champions League which begins on September 10.
