LAHORE: Pakistan ‘A’  has called up batsman Rameez Alam and fast-bowler Mohammad Rameez as replacements for Asad Shafiq and Mohammad Irfan who will be flying out to England after being included in the One-Day International (ODI) squad.

“The duo was on the reserves’ list for the ongoing tour [of Sri Lanka],” Pakistan ‘A’ captain Azeem Ghumman told The Express Tribune. “Losing Shafiq and Irfan is a blow to our side. But the replacements have been playing well on the domestic circuit.”

Alam has played 28 first-class matches with an average of 40.97. Rameez has taken 125 wickets in 24 first-class matches. Pakistan will play two four-day matches against Sri-Lanka A starting from September 10.
