A specially designed ‘Transmission Package’ will allow three new grid stations to be installed.

The Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) has announced that it will invest Rs40 billion over the next 18 to 36 months. Under this new plan, KESC plans to make its three power plants at Korangi and SITE more efficient so that they generate 47 MW of additional capacity. The organisation also intends to convert its oil-fired units of 210 MW to coal.
