Football: Rasool shines as KESC down Afghan FC

In another match, PIA drew with Navy 1-1 in Karachi.

KARACHI: KESC climbed to third place in the Pakistan Premier Football League (PPFL) yesterday after beating Afghan FC 2-0 in Chaman, while PAF dropped to fourth place after drawing with PMC Athletico 1-1 in Peshawar. Muhammad Rasool, in the running for the event’s top-scorer along with KRL’s Kaleemullah, scored twice to ensure victory for KESC. The win means KESC now have 39 points after 18 matches, while Afghan FC have 16 points after 17 games. Meanwhile, PAF recorded a draw against PMC Athletico and missed out an opportunity to extend their lead over KESC and Muslim FC. PAF have 38 points after 19 matches, while PMC Athletico have 14 points after 18 games. In another match, PIA drew with Navy 1-1 in Karachi. Navy stay at eighth place with 20 points, while PIA lie 10th with 17.
