NAWABSHAH:

The Sindh Professors and Lecturers Association has threatened to boycott board examinations after activists of the students wing of a political party recently manhandled staff at a college.

The incident reportedly took place at the Government Sachal Sarmast College, after Prof. Roshan caught Ghulam Rasool impersonating a student during the BA part-II English examination. Rasool and his accomplices then stormed the college and allegedly beat Prof. Roshan and the college’s principal, Prof. Rustam Ali Khaskheli, and also snatched answer copies of other students who were taking the exam.

They also reportedly ransacked the principal’s office and some classrooms.

SPLA Sindh central joint secretary Prof. Aurangzeb Bhangwar said that Airport police only sent two constables to control situation, after receiving complaints from the college administration.

He added that teachers would boycott their invigilation duties in Hyderabad till the culprits were arrested.

SHO Airport police Riaz Soomro said that they would arrest the accused after an FIR was registered.
