KARACHI:

The traffic police has announced alternative traffic routes and parking arrangements in view of the International Defence Exhibition and Seminar (IDEAS) starting from November 7 at the Expo Centre.

All heavy and commercial vehicles coming from the airport towards the National Stadium via Karasaz Road will be diverted towards Baloch Colony Bridge. After taking a U-turn under Tipu Sultan Bridge, traffic can move toward Shaheed-e-Millat Road to approach Jail Chowrangi, University Road and surrounding areas.

“Vehicles coming from Gharibabad heading towards Karsaz will be diverted to the left before Hasan Square flyover towards University Road,” said Traffic Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Khurram Gulzar. Commuters can take a U-turn to go to the National Stadium’s back via KDA Society and then to Karsaz via Stadium Road.

The vehicles coming from NIPA towards Hassan Square and Civic Centre will be diverted toward KDA Society to approach Stadium Road from where the commuters can go right towards Aga Khan University Hospital back to the University Road. Traffic coming from University Road into the city may also use NIPA and Rashid Minhas Road as an alternative. Gulzar advised that people coming from Sohrab Goth towards the city to use Shahra-e-Pakistan and Sher Shah Soori Road.
