Theft suspicion: Teacher blackens student’s face

BAHAWALPUR:
A student of Grade 6 was allegedly beaten with a bat and his face blackened on Friday by a teacher and the school owner’s son. Muhammad Shoaib, a resident of resident of Mangwani village, told police that his son, Muhammad Hassan, was enrolled in a private school. He said the school owners’ son, Muhammad Hanif, had on Friday accused Hassan of stealing the wallet of a teacher, Saleem. He said Hassan denied the accusation but brought a bat and started beating him. He said Saleem and Farhan, also a teacher, had aided Hanif. Shoaib said Hassan’s face was painted black and he was paraded around the school. He said students Muhammad Munir and Muhammad Riaz had finally rescued Hassan.
