Birth, Death: Late registration fines waived
Union council records also being computerised so that people could easily get death and birth certificates.

The Punjab government has waived fines on late registration of deaths and births, Local Government Director General Nadeem Aslam said on Monday.
He was addressing a seminar organised by the National Database Registration Authority (NADRA). He said union council records were also being computerised so that people could easily get death and birth certificates. NADRA Director General Sajjad Hussain Shah said since most union councils did not own the buildings they had their offices in and some lacked electricity connections, it was difficult for the authority to computerise their records.
