Bmu graduates: Officials accused of denying house jobs

The PHC has issued a notice to provincial health officials over allegations by graduates of the Bannu Medical College.

PESHAWAR:

The Peshawar High Court (PHC) has issued a notice to provincial health officials over allegations by graduates of the Bannu Medical College (BMU), who claim they are being denied house jobs in government hospitals.

The notices were issued by PHC’s division bench comprising Justice Miftahuddin and Justice Waqar Ahmad Seth while hearing a writ petition filed by Dr Syed Karim and 23 other doctors on Friday.

The petitioners’ attorney Syed Akbar Ali Shah informed the bench that BMC graduates who are affiliated with political parties in power are offered house jobs at public hospitals, but those lacking political support are deprived of the opportunity.

The division bench accepted the petition and issued notices to the provincial health secretary and chief executives of the Lady Reading Hospital, Khyber Teaching Hospital and Hayatabad Medical Complex.
