PESHAWAR: Blood samples of runaway Afghan woman Maryam’s alleged first family were collected at Khyber Medical University’s (KMU) forensic laboratory. The samples will be sent to Rawalpindi for DNA tests. However, Maryam had earlier said that she would never accept the results if the tests were conducted in Pakistan. The case proceedings will be held on Monday. On the other hand, it was learnt that Maryam attempted to reconcile with Rehman after calling and requesting him to withdraw the case. However, he refused to do so. “Maryam has disgraced my family in the Pakhtun community across the border. Let the court decide the issue,” sources quoted Rehman as saying.
