Murree demolishes encroachments

MURREE:

The district administration in Murree demolished illegal constructions in Misiari as part of an ongoing operation against unauthorised structures and encroachments.

The action was carried out on the directives of Deputy Commissioner Murree Agha Zaheer Abbas Shirazi, a district administration spokesman said. Heavy machinery was deployed during the operation, while officials from the district administration and relevant departments remained present on site.

According to the administration, the initiative aims to preserve Murree's natural beauty, maintain environmental balance and ensure urban discipline.

The spokesman stated that certain elements were occupying state land through illegal constructions and encroachments, thereby damaging the hill station's historic and tourist character - a practice that would not be tolerated.
