SHC discharges sheep culling case
Complainant Tariq Butt withdrew from the case unconditionally.
KARACHI:
The Sindh High Court, on the request of the plaintiff, discharged the case against the culling of Australian sheep on Thursday.
The case was heard in court for three weeks.
During today’s hearing, the counsel of complainant Tariq Butt informed the court that his client wants to withdraw from the case unconditionally and hence the case should be discharged.
Justice Maqbool Baqar directed the counsel to submit a written request.
In an earlier hearing, the Sindh government informed the court that it was willing to purchase the Australian sheep so that they can be culled.
The government’s counsel had also rejected the medical report by a UK-based laboratory which stated the sheep were disease free.
