Crippling disease: Governor determined to eradicate polio
Governor distributed Rs10,000 and a wheel chair each to a number of disabled people.

Governor Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Barrister Masood Kausar said that due to strong commitment of our government, there is a great decline in polio cases reported in tribal areas. This he said in the launching ceremony of All Pakistan Polio Campaign at Governor House Peshawar on Tuesday. The governor, on the occasion, distributed Rs10,000 and a wheel chair each to a number of disabled people. Speaking to the media, the governor said that cooperation of tribal people and guidance of people about polio eradication by religious leaders has made polio campaigns successful. He said that polio cases had been reduced from 73 in 2010 and 59 in 2011 to 16 in the current year and said that it would be eradicated from Fata very soon. He added that 60% of the inaccessible areas were made accessible for the polio campaign and soon enough the teams would be able to reach rest of the areas in the tribal region too.
