Preparedness assessed: Sea Spark 2012 concludes

ISLAMABAD: The 2012 edition of the annual Pakistan maritime exercise, Sea Spark, concluded with the debriefing session held at PNS Jauhar in Karachi on Tuesday. Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Mohammad Asif Sandila, along with the higher command, attended the session. Sea Spark was conducted to assess the operational readiness of the navy under multi-threat environment. Admiral Sandila said the complex geostrategic situation in the region warrants a high state of preparedness. He said that the exercise was utilised to validate PN’s concept of security, counter piracy plan, utilisation of ships, submarines, aircraft and other components.
