ISLAMABAD: The Suddle Commission investigating the Arsalan Iftikhar case has submitted an interim investigation report in the Supreme Court on Monday explaining reasons behind the submission delay, reported Express News.
The report said that the commission could not meet its given deadline because of lack of cooperation from business tycoon Malik Riaz and the Interior Ministry. It also expressed displeasure over IG Islamabad not sending a notice to Riaz as ordered.
The commission has also asked Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to give details of bank accounts and tax statements of all respondents in the case. In the report, the commission has also requested for 30 more days from the apex court to investigate the case further.
During the investigation, the commission had asked the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to provide two officials for assistance, but the agency sent an application to the Interior Ministry over the request which was turned down, the report added.
Riaz’s counsel Zahid Bukhari has been criticising the formation of the commission, headed by Shoaib Suddle, and has maintained that Suddle has family connections with Arsalan Iftikhar, son of Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, and should not be allowed to investigate.
A two-member special bench of the court will review the commission’s report and will hear the case later today.

SC is all togather to save Arsalan Iftikhar. It seems joke.All these judges r responsible if justice isnt done.Honestly speaking enough is enough ths CJ & the rest judges shud stop playing politics. I mean hw can they take freedom of speech they have made sure to stop media from bringng more truth out. When v speak about change it means everywhere if our judicial system wasnt courrpt the country would have been in much better shape. Why ths hipocrate CJ and rest of his buddys cant see wht happng in lahore all the lawyers get togather and threat the judges to make a dicision in their favor. CJ's own judges decide who will investigate. Then they appoint the prosecutor. And then they hold trial themselves and pass judgement. What a mockery. What a sham. You can't shame the shameless.

BEcause the case is to determine whether or not Arsalan Iftikhar accepted bribes from Malik Riaz or not. Malik Riaz's tax details have no bearing on the case and hence are protected as a matter of privacy. The very fact that Suddle is asking for all this unrelated information shows that the allegations against his selection made by someone no less than Asma Jahangir were valid.
A one man commission sounds most ridiculous even from Pakistani standards. Only the PCO judges can handpick such a commission to protect their family’s wealth and future prosecution even after the CJ’s retirement.
This just a Fraud to cover a crime and each and everyone involved in this mockery of independent judiciary must be fired from his job, tried and punished for the crime of protecting a criminal called Arsalan Chaudhry the son of the sitting Chief Justice Mohammad Iftikhar Chaudhry. This is called obstruction of justice as well as premeditated effort to cover up crimes of the Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry's son and the Chief Justice, possible, own role and involvement in such criminal activities. This matter must be thorouly scrutinize and investigated, if not now then later when the circumstance change for better and atmosphere more conducive.
CJ and his SC appointed this one man show to collect the information to frame Riaz. Why they need to take income tax details of Riaz and others. Simply they need to collect evidence if Arslan took money from Riaz or not. Why all this drama? CJ is trying to save his corrupt son and himself. Each passing day is making it firm CJ and his son both are involved in this game. Other wise he will never try to save his son like this.

Mr. CJ please stop this drama. On one hand, you couldn't stop short of comparing yourself with the second Caliph, and on the other, you despite drawing millions in salaries, you want multiple plots, don't want the audit of SC funds, and on top, your son runs an racket of blackmailing. With all this greed, you want the investigation to be run by your hand picked buddies, despite that in the end, it will be you and your friends who will finally be examining the evidence collected during investigation.
After 30 days the file will be closed due to "non-cooperation". CJ is smart indeed.
