Throwball: Convent of Jesus of Mary clinch title

The Convent clinched the second Haque Academy Girls Throwball Tournament title as they defeated the Hampton School 2-0

KARACHI: The Convent of Mary and Jesus clinched the second Haque Academy Girls Throwball Tournament title as they defeated the Hampton School 2-0, while The City School PAF chapter outplayed the International System School 2-1 yesterday. Mahnoor Nadeem received the best player award after her team lifted the trophy. The tournament was held by the Haque Academy School in collaboration with the Sindh Throwball Association (STA). According to the STA Secretary Maqbool Arain, the event will help the association promote the sport among various schools in Karachi and use it as a way to search for talent. “It’s the second tournament. Last year we had only 10 teams, but this time its 16, which shows that throwball is growing as a sport in Karachi,” said Arain.
