LAHORE: A training workshop on Audiology, Speech and Language Therapy for kids with impaired hearing was organised by the Alam Audiology Clinic on Sunday. Dr Shilpi Narang, an Indian expert, addressed some 50 doctors and teachers working with children who had undergone cochlear implant. Dr Afzaal Alam, the workshop organiser, said the children who underwent the implant should go to schools for normal children. If they didn’t, there was some problem with the implant. “We have treated some 700 children this way and they are doing fine,” he said. He said another session would take place on Monday. On Tuesday, talks would be organised at Special Education Department on Speech and Language Training for kids with impaired hearing.
