ABBOTABAD: A police constable was booked for chaining his daughter to a cot on Saturday. City police quoted residents of the area saying that they heard a girl wailing and crying for help in the home of Muhammad Nawaz, a police constable in Mohalla Thanda Mera. When they went over to inquire what had happened, they saw that Nawaz’s younger daughter Rifat, 12, was chained to a cot. Residents of the area said that they attempted to persuade Nawaz to free her, but he refused. The police took the girl to the police station where they registered a criminal case against the constable. He is, however, yet to be arrested.
