Fanning sectarianism: 2 teachers transferred

The number of teachers fanning sectarianism is about 5,000 across the province.

FAISALABAD: There are more than 200 madrassa and school teachers, khateebs and members of Amn committees in Faisalabad that have been identified as preaching intolerance and sectarianism in an intelligence agency report, Education Department officials told The Express Tribune. The number of teachers fanning sectarianism is about 5,000 across the province. Officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said that the department had decided to take action against the teachers under the Punjab Employees and Efficiency, Discipline and Accountability Act 2006. They said that two teachers, Syed Munir Hussain Shah and Maulvi Adbul Rasheed, had been transferred already.
