Land grabbing: SHO to record statement against MPA

The court directed the SHO to record petitioner's statement and proceed in accordance with the law.

LAHORE:
An additional district and sessions judge disposed of a petition with a direction to the petitioner to approach the police station concerned and get the station house officer to record his complaint against a PML-N MPA Malik Riaz. Petitioner Shahid Ilyas contended that Riaz and his “henchmen” Malik Ibrar Bari, Wajid Ali, Hassan Naqvi and Malik Abrar had tried to occupy his land in Shahdara, where he was growing sugarcane. He said the land grabbers had destroyed his crops and pulled out guns and threatened to kill him. He said that he had approached the SHO concerned to lodge a case, but the SHO did not listen to him. He asked the court to direct the SHO to register a case against the PML-N MPA and the others. The court said the SHO would record his statement and proceed in accordance with the law.
