Suicide or murder?: Inmate found hanged in cell
Jail officials said he had been depressed because his family had not hired a lawyer to defend him.

A Central Jail prisoner on Wednesday was found hanged in his cell, said jail authorities. Shahid, 32, was suspected of being involved in his mother-in-law’s murder and was sent to prison two weeks ago.
He was to be produced in court on Wednesday. Jail officials said he had been depressed because his family had not hired a lawyer to defend him. His family, however, said he had been murdered by either a fellow inmate or prison officials. A magistrate has sent his body for an autopsy.
