Unsafe conditions: 1,450 illegal factories in Gujranwala

GUJRANWALA: There are 1,450 illegal factories in Gujranwala, according to an Industries Department survey. The survey was conducted by the town municipal offices, Civil Defence officers, Rescue 1122 staff and Industries Department staff. The factories were located in residential areas and lacked fire safety arrangements.

Industries DO Muhammad Bashir said the report has been forwarded to the DCO and the commissioner.
