K-P pushes roads plan for merged districts

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi on Sunday chaired a high-level meeting of the Communication and Works Department at the Chief Minister's House, Peshawar, where a comprehensive review of ongoing and proposed road and infrastructure projects across the province was conducted.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister directed the department to prepare and include a dedicated road infrastructure scheme in the forthcoming Annual Development Programme (ADP) specifically aimed at improving interconnectivity among the merged tribal districts.
"Enhanced connectivity in these areas will facilitate ease of movement for the people, accelerate socio-economic development and promote greater regional integration," the Chief Minister stated.
Afridi further instructed the authorities to expedite the pace of work on provincial motorway and expressway projects. He noted that practical steps are already being taken for the establishment of an integrated road network throughout the province.
Highlighting the critical role of infrastructure, the Chief Minister said robust road networks form the foundation of sustainable economic growth.
