Pakistan spending Rs90 bn per month in war on terror: Imran Khan
Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, Khan said that the rally to South Waziristan would comprise of international media representatives and non-governmental organisations (NGOs), adding that they will inform the drone victims that the people in America and Europe were also against drone attacks.
Also speaking to the media, seconding Khan, former United States ambassador Anne Wright said that including her, many other Americans were against drone strikes.
Criticising the recently released anti-Islam film in the US, representatives of American NGOs said that they condemned the film, adding that it incited hatred which had hurt the sentiments of both Muslims and Americans as well.

It seems that the idea of peace is radical these days and ordinary people are caught in the middle of "terrorists" and "terrorist states... who benefits! As Northern Ireland showed there had to be talks with all key figures for peace to come about which was hugely controversial at the time but ultimately probably saved many lives and brought about a level of stability that had not been seen for many years. You will never bring about peace through more violence... Doors have to be opened... efforts made to understand why people became so radicalized and solutions sought. Burying heads in the sand will not bring about change it takes a new way of thinking... and great courage!

I think what IK wants to say is the contribution of WOT to Pakistan's GDP is 90bil per month. Pakistan's total federal budget is 3 tril per year. Are we seriously expected to believe that more than one third is being spent on WOT?

It was the army (ordered by Busharraf) who went to waziristan to fight after a phone call from US. Who's to blame? Who's to blame for Lal masjid when children were killed? Only IK is trying his best to bring peace. He cares for Muslims & uniting Muslims which is why he's being all religious parties together. He wants to make Pakistan a truly Islamic state.

How did Imran come to this unbelievable figure of Rs 90 billions loss per month ie three billions per day ? Has this loss details been released by the military who controls the complete defense expenditure with no accountability as well as any scrutiny to the civilian govt ? If this figure is correct, quite a few who are at the helm of the affairs are pocketing millions, a fact which has missed Imran's mind.

Does that mean Pakistan will save Rs 90 billion (almost $1 billion) per MONTH if and when war on terror stops? It comes out to be mare than Rs one TRILLION per YEAR. It is almost 3/4 of annual tax revenues of Pakistan nation.

I'm not saying I'm an Imran Khan supporter...at least not yet maybe, but I love what he's doing here. These drone attacks need to get all the media attention they can get, so that the whole world could help Pakistan put an end to this.

Does anyone really believe that your military would significantly downsize if the WOT magically disappeared tomorrow? Does anyone think that you would stop development of expensive cruise missiles and nukes? I would argue that if the "militants" suddenly disappeared your overall military budget may actually go up because you would lose whatever funding you now get from the USA while your military expenditures wouldn't change enough to offset the loss in funding.
Mr. Khan will turn things around (in 3 months or less) so that the WoT will start being profitable for Pakistan once again.
