Murder charges: Four sent to jail on judicial remand

Accused were arrested on charges of murder of a taxi driver.

HARIPUR: A former union nazim and his three brothers were sent to jail on judicial remand on Friday. They were arrested on charges of murder of a taxi driver. Raja Naseer, a taxi driver of Shah Maqsood went missing from his home and four days later, his body was recovered from the nearby fields in mutilated condition. The deceased’s mother named the union council’s former nazim Saeed Abbasi and this brothers Shakil Abbasi, Aqeel Abbasi and Naseer Abbasi for the murder. She maintained that her son had a minor altercation with the accused, who abducted and murdered him. The police arrested all four accused and obtained their physical remand from the judicial magistrate for investigation. However, on expiry of the remand, they were sent to Haripur Jail on judicial remand.
