The School Education Department (SED) will take action against All Pakistan Private Schools Management Association.
LAHORE:
The School Education Department (SED) will take action against All Pakistan Private Schools Management Association (APPSAMA) president for misleading the department as well as private schools, executive district officer (EDO) Education Dr Muhammad Arshad told The Express Tribune.
According to the EDO, Adeeb Javedani, the APPSAMA president, had told private schools associations and SED that the Lahore High Court’s Rawalpindi bench had struck down the Punjab government’s notification directing schools to resume classes no earlier than September 9, except for summer camps for senior classes. The EDO said that the SED had not received any court order to the effect.
Arshad added that the SED will also take action against private schools on Monday (today) that had violated its summer holidays notification.
Secretary SED, Muhammad Aslam Kamboh, said that no bench of LHC had struck down the government’s notification adding that the schools had been notified in June that schools would re-open on September 9.
All Pakistan Private Schools Association (APPSA) president Mirza Kashif said that the association had announced the opening of their schools after being told by Jadwani that the LHC had struck down the government’s notification. He said that when he contacted the SED secretary he was told that Javedani had lied. Kashif added that APPSA schools would now resume classes on September 9.
All Pakistan Private Schools Welfare Association president Syed Zulqarnain Shah told The Express Tribune that he had called up Javedani after SED said that there was no LHC notification.
He said that Javedani said that he had written a letter to all associations and SED after his counsel told him that the Rawalpindi bench had struck down the government notification. Shah added that Javedani’s petition had been disposed of by the Rawalpindi bench and that Javedani said the petition was being heard in the court of LHC Justice Ejazul Hassan. Javedani remained unavailable for comments.
