Domestic problems: Woman burnt by husband dies
Police have now added the murder charge in the case against the suspect.
FAISALABAD:
A woman who was burnt allegedly by her husband expired in hospital three weeks after the incident. Imran, a resident of Hasanpura, was arrested by Madina Town police on September 3 for setting his wife, Amina, 26, on fire. The complaint had been lodged by his father-in-law, Muhammad Sarwar, a resident of Nawabanwala. He said Imran had sprinkled kerosene oil on Amina and set her on fire. He said Imran had later taken her to a hospital and told him she was being treated for injuries from a fall. “When we reached the hospital, we discovered that she had been burnt,” he said. A doctor at the hospital said Amina had received burn injuries to over 80 percent of her body. Police have now added the murder charge in the case against the suspect.
