Space sciences: Space Week at IUB to begin on Oct 8

BAHAWALPUR: Space Week will be observed at the Abbasia Campus of Islamia University from October 8. The event, aimed at creating awareness about space science among students, will be held in collaboration of Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco). University spokesman said the first competition of making water rockets will be held among students of secondary schools and colleges. For this, he said, training for science teachers will be held on September 27. The week will include quiz shows and poster making and speech competitions. The IUB Research Director Prof Muhammad Asghar Hashmi has been assigned as the focal person for the arrangements Vice Chancellor Prof Muhammad Mukhtar and the Suparco director general will inaugurate the Space Week.
