Fire, floods: PML-Q files adjournment motions
Zaheeruddin criticised Punjab government for not following the recommendations in Justice Mansoor Ali Shah’s report
LAHORE:
Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid’s (PML-Q) parliamentary leader in Punjab Assembly Chaudhry Zaheeruddin on Wednesday submitted two adjournment motions to the assembly secretariat. One was about the fire at a shoe factory on Bund Road and the other about the devastation caused by the floods in Punjab. Zaheeruddin claims in the motion about the fire that more than 8,000 fire incidents have occurred during the last four years in Lahore, as a result of which 680 buildings have been destroyed. But the government has remained indifferent and taken no remedial action. Zaheeruddin has also criticised the Punjab government for not following the recommendations in Justice Mansoor Ali Shah’s report, which he said could have averted the devastation caused by recent rains and floods.
