KARACHI:
President Asif Ali Zardari, Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s chief Altaf Hussain, Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah, Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad and the people of Sindh should be congratulated on the new local government ordinance, said Senior Minister for Education and Literacy Pir Mazharul Haq on Tuesday.
“The Sindh Peoples Local Government Ordinance is good and will live up to the expectations of the people.” The minister claimed that the nationalists were against the democratic process. “It was disappointing to see them make such a hue and cry without reading the document,” he said. “Organising a strike is their democratic right, but what’s the point? The people of Sindh are sensible and will not be deceived by them.”
