Bajaur Idps: Govt should provide food packages, says JI
JI chief has asked the government to take necessary initiatives for the rehabilitation of IDPs from Bajaur.
PESHAWAR:
Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami Fata chapter, Haroon Rasheed, has asked the government to take necessary initiatives for the rehabilitation of IDPs from Bajaur.
He said there should be a relief package for the war-affected people. In a press conference on Monday, Rasheed said that 2.5 million tribal people had been displaced and 40,000 have lost their lives due to the ongoing military operations.
He said since August 24, almost 60,000 people have left their homes near the Pak-Afghan border. “People there are facing severe shortages of food and medicine as they have little access to the settled areas,” he said.
