I’ve realised how lucky I am to be living in America, says Madonna

Live in concert at the massive Yankee Stadium, pop star Madonna decided to take a break from singing and took off her shirt, according to the Wall Street Journal. Surprisingly it wasn’t skin she was trying to show off — it was the ink on her back, which spelled out “Obama”.

“I’ve realised how lucky I am to be living in America,” she said according to the Hollywood Reporter, adding that touring around the world has given her some perspective. “Thank God for Michelle Obama and her good-looking husband that we are free. Do not take this freedom for granted because if you do, you will lose it.”

This is just the latest notable moment on her MDNA tour. Her other eyebrow-raising acts include her solidarity with the jailed members of the Russian punk band Pussy Riot (promoting homosexuality), a swastika flap in France, and flashing her bare chest in concert.
