ATC hearing: Witnesses depose in 2005 case

KARACHI: The Anti-Terrorism Court I heard the testimony of two witnesses, associated with a 2005 bomb blast case, on Thursday. The attack took place at PIDC in Karachi on November 15, killing at least three people. Abdul Hameed Bugti, who was arrested a few years after the incident, is being tried in the case. Bugti faces charges under sections of the Pakistan Penal Code that deal with murder, attempted murder, common intent, causing mischief and abetment, sections 3 and 4 of the Explosives Act, and section 7 of the Anti- Terrorism Act of 1997. One of the men who testified at the court on Thursday had witnessed the attack, while the other was a medico-legal officer. The court will next hear the case on September 24.
