Lower and Upper Dir: Five personnel injured in accident, civilian killed in mortar attack
Names of the injured personnel couldn’t be ascertained, SHO Hussain said.

Three security personnel and two policemen were injured when their vehicle plunged into a deep ravine near Zaimdara area of Maidan tehsil on Tuesday.
SHO Fazal Hussain said that security forces and police personnel were on the way for launching a search operation to Lal Qilla area in a pick-up vehicle when the driver of the vehicle lost control and plunged into a deep ravine.
He said that locals rushed to the area to rescue them and pulled out the injured personnel from the ravine, adding that the security forces reached after some time and shifted the injured to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Peshawar while the police personnel were taken to the Timergara District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ).
Names of the injured personnel couldn’t be ascertained, SHO Hussain said.
Meanwhile, one person was killed and another injured when a mortar shell fired from across the border from Afghanistan landed on the house of Awal Bacha in Kharkai area of the Upper Dir district.
An official of Kharki police said that the shell landed on the house at around 3:00pm killing Mohammad, the grandson of Awal Bacha, on the spot while injured Bacha, who was taken to Timergara DHQ where doctors said that he was in stable condition.
